Leigh Academies Trust has partnered with Future First, a registered charity, to bring the LAT Alumni community to life. The Trust is keen to foster a thriving community of ex-students who can bring their expertise back into academies as they progress with their careers.
The LATAlumni website, launched in August 2015 and designed as our shop window for prospective alumni members, provides the gateway to joining the alumni communities for The Leigh Academy, Longfield Academy, Wilmington Academy, Stationers’ Crown Woods Academy and Mascalls Academy. Among our alumni members we are sure there is a whole range of inspiring career and education role models, volunteers, work experience providers, governors, and mentors. We are seeking to find you all; we are not asking for your money, but hopefully something far more valuable – your time – to support those following in your footsteps today.
Once signed up, alumni have the opportunity to join our exclusive
LinkedIn and Facebook Alumni Communities, to network with old friends, and to remain up to date with news and events from their academy.
The school leaders have demonstrated their strong capacity to bring about sustained improvement through effective self-evaluation processes and this has been acknowledged by parents, carers and students. One parent referred to the school as a ‘shining light amongst local schools’.
Through engaging with businesses and further education college partners, the school is developing personalised pathways for vocational courses and apprenticeships, which are greatly valued by students.
Students overwhelmingly say that they feel safe in school and that any bullying, name-calling or teasing is immediately dealt with.
