Week beginning 29th October 2018 – Students receive their login details for UCAS Progress by post from Kent County Council
Monday 5th November 2018 – Mascalls Academy portal on UCAS Progress opens for Sixth Form applications from those living within the County of Kent. Applicants who live outside of Kent should apply using this Sixth Form out of county paper application form for 2019 entry, which will download as an editable Word document
Week beginning 5th November 2018 – First round of Year 11 GCSE mock exams (which will provide data on Sixth Form subject suitability)
Friday 11th January 2019 – Deadline for submission of Sixth Form applications for entry in September 2019
During February 2019 – Individual meetings take place with current Mascalls students during this month (where required) to confirm subject choices and assess students’ suitability for their chosen pathway. Please note that not all internal applicants will need to attend a meeting.
Wednesday 6th February 2019 – External Applicant Afternoon 1.30pm to 3.30pm, for prospective Sixth Form students who are currently attending other schools in Kent, or in other counties.
Week beginning 25th February 2019 – Second round of Year 11 GCSE mock exams
During March 2019 – Offers of Sixth Form places are made via the UCAS Progress system during this month. Offers will either be conditional or unconditional, and will have a response deadline by which you must either accept or reject the offer also via the UCAS Progress system. Failure to respond to your offer by the stated deadline may result in it being cancelled.
Monday 13th May to Friday 21st June 2019 – GCSE final exams take place
Monday 1st July to Wednesday 3rd July 2019 – Three Induction Days for Mascalls Academy Sixth Form. Students intending to join the Sixth Form in September 2019 are required to attend all three days. This includes all internal and external students who have accepted an offer of a place via the UCAS Progress system.
Thursday August 22nd 2019 – GCSE Results Day – All Year 11 Mascalls students need to be available to receive their GCSE results in person at the school, and to review their Sixth Form subject choices with the Head and Deputy Head of Sixth Form.
External students need to make contact with the Sixth Form team as soon as possible after receiving their results to confirm that they will be taking up their Sixth Form place. A copy of the GCSE results sheet will need to be scanned and emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org as part of this confirmation process.
