We are introducing a new catering contractor to Mascalls Academy in September 2016. The new caterers are “Cucina” pronounced “Cuchina which is an Italian name for Kitchen or where food is prepared.
The name describes their approach of sharing what they know about food with the students, by giving them a sense of being in the kitchen and watching them prepare fresh, great tasting food.
As part of this change to a new caterer the Academy will be fully cashless and only the biometrics system from October . This will allow all students to register onto the new system. All existing balances from Caterlink this year will be transferred to the caterer. Cucina operate a more modern and efficient cashless system showing top ups instantly.
We are now able to take online payments via a credit or debit card. These payments can be used for a number of purposes such as school trips, the school fund, and to top up your child’s prepaid canteen account.
You should have received a letter from the school containing your instructions and a code to enable you to register on the Tucasi Internet Payments website.
If you have not yet received your letter please contact your child’s Head of Pastoral.
Once registered you will be able to make payments, and also view what your child has been buying in the canteen. Click the link below to access the online payments website. Please note that no credit card details are stored when using this system. Payments made to your canteen account are paid directly to Cucina, and not Mascalls Academy.
The school leaders have demonstrated their strong capacity to bring about sustained improvement through effective self-evaluation processes and this has been acknowledged by parents, carers and students. One parent referred to the school as a ‘shining light amongst local schools’.
Through engaging with businesses and further education college partners, the school is developing personalised pathways for vocational courses and apprenticeships, which are greatly valued by students.
Students overwhelmingly say that they feel safe in school and that any bullying, name-calling or teasing is immediately dealt with.
