Post-results Exam Information

GCSE Results Day – Summer 2020                      A Level Results Day – Summer 2020

Certificates

The documents you receive on Results Day are Statements of Results and NOT certificates. The certificates are printed and sent to us at Mascalls a long time after the results themselves. This is to allow time for any requested reviews and appeals.

You will be notified when certificates are ready for collection and you have three options:-

  • To collect them in person from Reception at a pre-arranged time.
  • To provide someone with written authorisation to collect them from Reception on your behalf at a pre-arranged time.
  • To request that they be sent to you by Recorded Delivery. This can be arranged upon receipt of a cheque for £4 made payable to Mascalls Academy.

Certificates that have not been collected after one year will be confidentially disposed of. The examination boards do not require the school to keep the certificates any longer.

Lost Certificates – each Exam Board seems to have a different system for dealing with lost certificates. You should not assume that you will be able to buy replacements, so keep them safe!

It is becoming increasingly important that you keep your original certificates safe to show future further education establishments or future employers. We can provide you with a letter (on headed notepaper) confirming your grades and signed by the Exams Officer. This may satisfy an employer who has asked to see your certificates.

Resit Policy

It is Mascalls Academy’s policy that any pupil requiring to re-sit a BTEC/Cambridge National or Cambridge Technical unit has to pay the entry fee.

This is also the case if a current Year 11 is accepted into Sixth Form on the condition that English and/or mathematics is retaken to meet the entry criteria for any applicable course.  Should there be any mitigating circumstances applicable to this rule, please contact either: –

Mrs C Rosie, Examinations Officer – caroline.rosie@mascallsacademy.org.uk
