Faraday Challenge 2020

On Thursday the 23rd of January teams of students from The Leigh UTC, Longfield Academy and Mascalls Academy took part in the Faraday Challenge, which is run by the Institution of Engineering and Technology. This is an annual STEM competition for students aged 12-13 where, in teams of 6, they are tasked with solving a real world challenge.

All of the students involved where completely engaged from the word go and came up with some amazing ideas.

After many hours of working together planning, problem solving and constructing each team gave a short presentation to outline what they had made and how they thought their day had gone.

It was a close competition with the final scores being 70, 71 and 72 with Mascalls Academy just coming out front.

It was a thoroughly enjoyable day for all involved and we would all like to thank The Leigh UTC for hosting.
