Mascalls Academy is an 11-18 fully comprehensive day school with a large Sixth Form. It has a maximum annual intake of 240 boys and girls. Courses of study are provided according to individual needs for the GCSE examination and at GCE A Level, A/S Level and GNVQ (Foundation, Intermediate and Advanced) leading to admission to universities, including Oxbridge, or specialist professional training.
Students are admitted in accordance with the Governing Body’s publicised Admissions Procedure. Details and dates for the procedure are published annually.
Mascalls is normally the nearest appropriate school for pupils of all abilities living in Brenchley, Matfield, Capel, Five Oak Green, East Peckham, Horsmonden, Lamberhurst, Yalding and Paddock Wood. There have been changes in the KCC policy for free bus travel from some of these villages. Please check for eligibility at firstname.lastname@example.org.
For Year 7 entry in September 2021, children born between 1 September 2009 to 31 August 2010, applications can be made from 1 September 2020. To apply online, please visit the KCC website. Waiting List and Appeals at Mascalls Academy
Once offers have been made by Kent Admissions, a waiting list will be maintained by Mascalls Academy and places are offered if they become available in accordance with our oversubscription criteria. For those wishing to make an appeal for a place, further details will be provided according to the Kent Admissions timetable.
If your child is due to start secondary school in September 2021 you can appeal between 1 March and 27 March 2021; appeals will be heard by Tuesday 15 June 2021. For applications made in the normal admission round, appeals must be heard within 40 school days of the deadline for lodging appeals. For late applications, appeals should be heard within 40 school days from the deadline for lodging appeals where possible, or within 30 schools days of the appeals being lodged.
