Principal’s Update – 9th September 2022

On behalf of the entire Mascalls community we are very saddened to hear of the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and offer our condolences to the Royal family at this time.

The nation now enters a national period of mourning, our students, parents and carers along with it.  National Mourning is a period of time for reflection in response to the demise of the Sovereign, or other member of the Royal Family or a very prominent person in national life. Mourning can be very personal to the individual, groups and communities. As we await further information we will support our students with assemblies and advisory sessions to ensure they are fully informed and supported where necessary.

The academy will remain fully open throughout this period but in keeping with the period of national morning all announcements and communication will be limited to only the most imperative and urgent.  Flags will be flown at half mast and all guidance followed as we await further information from the government.

A Book of Condolence is available online at the Royal Website.
